Scientists track the Mind's recovery after brain injury

NCT ID NCT03752697

Summary

This study aims to understand how a person's self-awareness of their own thinking (metacognition) changes as they recover from a brain or spinal cord injury. Researchers will follow 100 people, including patients in rehab and healthy volunteers, to see if better self-awareness predicts how actively someone participates in their rehabilitation. The goal is to gather knowledge to potentially improve future rehab programs, not to test a treatment.
