Blood test breakthrough could protect Babies' brains during heart surgery

NCT ID NCT07424976

Summary

This study aims to find better ways to detect brain injury early in babies with heart defects who need surgery. Researchers will measure specific proteins in the blood of 30 infants before and after their operation. They will compare these blood test results with brain scans and electrical brain activity (EEG) to see if certain patterns can warn doctors of potential brain damage sooner.
