New finger clip could make brain death diagnosis safer

NCT ID NCT06983990

Summary

This study tested if two non-invasive monitors could accurately track oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in patients undergoing a test to diagnose brain death. Researchers compared readings from a finger clip and a breath monitor to the standard, more invasive blood tests. The goal was to see if these simpler tools could provide reliable information and reduce the need for repeated blood draws during this critical procedure.
