Finger clip may replace needles in brain death diagnosis
NCT ID NCT06983990
First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study looked at 35 patients undergoing brain death testing. It checked whether a non-invasive finger clip (measuring oxygen reserve) and a breath sensor could accurately measure oxygen and carbon dioxide levels compared to standard blood tests. The goal was to see if these simpler tools could be used instead of repeated blood draws during the apnea test.
