Scientists scan brains to see how a cast changes your mind

NCT ID NCT07428304

Summary

This study aims to understand how putting an injured arm in a cast or sling affects brain activity and recovery. Researchers will measure brain signals using a harmless EEG cap on 30 adults with wrist or hand injuries at three points: when the cast goes on, when it comes off, and four weeks later. The goal is to learn how the brain adapts to not using the arm to help design better rehabilitation plans in the future.
