First-in-Human trial tests 'Vaccine' to train immune system against deadly brain cancer
NCT ID NCT04808245
Summary
This early-stage trial is testing a new personalized vaccine designed to treat a specific, hard-to-treat brain tumor called H3-mutated glioma. The vaccine aims to teach the patient's own immune system to recognize and attack the cancer cells. It is being given alongside standard radiotherapy and an immunotherapy drug (atezolizumab) to 15 adult patients to first check for safety and to see if it triggers the desired immune response.
