New brain surgery technique aims to reduce stroke damage

Summary

This study is creating a registry to track outcomes when surgeons use a specialized scope to perform minimally invasive surgery to remove blood clots from the brain after a hemorrhagic stroke. It will enroll 500 adults to see how well this approach works and which patients benefit most from having surgery quickly. The main goal is to see if surgery can successfully reduce the size of the brain bleed.
