Brain pressure probe tested to save lives after major stroke

NCT ID NCT05593380

Summary

This study tested whether using a special monitor to track pressure inside the skull could help doctors better treat patients who have suffered a large brain bleed. About 190 patients were randomly assigned to either have their brain pressure monitored or to receive standard care based on scans and exams. The main goal was to see if the pressure-guided treatment led to better recovery and survival 90 days after the bleed.
