New device aims to seal off dangerous brain bulges without open surgery
NCT ID NCT06872684
Summary
This study is testing a new medical device called the Surpass Elite with GUARDian Flow Diverter. It is designed to treat unruptured brain aneurysms—weak, bulging spots in a brain artery—by redirecting blood flow away from them, allowing them to seal off. The trial will enroll about 183 adults to see if the device is safe and effective at completely closing the aneurysm without causing a major stroke, over a 12-month period.
