New stent shows promise in sealing off dangerous brain bulges

NCT ID NCT06303063

Summary

This study tested a new medical device called the SINOMED IAS stent to treat brain aneurysms, which are weak bulges in brain arteries. It involved 203 patients to see if the stent could safely and effectively block off the aneurysm to prevent it from rupturing. Researchers followed patients for up to a year to check if the aneurysm stayed sealed and to monitor for any complications.
