New mesh device tested to seal off dangerous brain bulges

NCT ID NCT04918420

Summary

This study tested a new medical device called the Tonbridge Flow Diverter, which is a tiny mesh tube placed inside a blood vessel to treat unruptured brain aneurysms. Doctors inserted the device in 142 patients across China to see if it could safely and effectively redirect blood flow away from the aneurysm, allowing it to clot and shrink. The main goal was to see if the aneurysm was completely blocked one year after the procedure.
