New device aims to seal off dangerous brain bulges

NCT ID NCT07339358

Summary

This study is testing the safety and performance of a new medical device called the World Diverter. It is designed to treat certain types of brain aneurysms (weak bulges in a brain artery) by placing a small mesh tube inside the artery to redirect blood flow away from the aneurysm, allowing it to seal off. The study will enroll 72 adults with specific, unruptured aneurysms and follow them for 12 months to see if the device works and is safe.
