First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at 148 people getting a painless colonoscopy to find the best waiting time after finishing their bowel prep drink. Researchers used ultrasound to check when the stomach was empty, then compared doing the colonoscopy within 2 hours versus waiting 2-4 hours. The goal was to see which timing gave the cleanest colon for the best exam.
