Real-Time ultrasound during surgery may sharpen endometriosis detection

NCT ID NCT06876376

First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using ultrasound during surgery can help doctors more accurately find and measure deep endometriosis in the bowel. About 200 women with suspected bowel endometriosis will have an ultrasound probe placed in the vagina or rectum while they are under anesthesia. The goal is to see if this technique improves surgical decisions and matches what is later found under a microscope.
