Botox for sleep apnea? new study tests throat muscle relaxation
NCT ID NCT07399782
Summary
This study is testing whether injecting botulinum toxin (similar to Botox) into throat muscles can help people with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. Researchers want to see if relaxing these muscles reduces breathing pauses during sleep and improves daytime sleepiness. The study will follow 20 participants for 3 months after receiving the injection to measure changes in their sleep breathing patterns.
