Botox injection tested to loosen tight hamstrings after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT05008731

Summary

This study is testing if an injection of botulinum toxin (like Botox) can help reduce tightness in the hamstring muscles and improve knee straightening after ACL reconstruction surgery. It compares the toxin against a placebo injection in 132 adults who still have significant knee stiffness one month after their surgery. The main goal is to see if the treatment helps patients fully straighten their knee two months after the injection.
