Botox for babies: trial tests early treatment to prevent lifelong shoulder deformity

Summary
This study is testing whether giving botulinum toxin injections early (at 12 months old) can prevent shoulder deformity in babies with birth-related arm nerve injury. Researchers will compare the injections against a sham procedure in 62 babies to see if the treatment reduces shoulder joint problems and improves arm movement. The goal is to prevent long-term disability and reduce the need for future surgeries.
