Botox shots tested as new weapon against muscle pain
NCT ID NCT06899438
Summary
This study tested whether Botox injections work better than a numbing medication for relieving chronic muscle pain (myofascial pain syndrome). 38 patients with pain lasting over 3 months received either Botox or prilocaine injections into their painful trigger points. Researchers measured pain levels before treatment and at 2 and 6 weeks after to compare effectiveness.
