Botox shots before surgery aim to ease breathing for hernia patients

NCT ID NCT06485440

Summary

This study looked at whether giving Botox injections before major hernia surgery could help patients breathe better. Researchers tested 10 patients with very large hernias, checking their lung function before and after the Botox injections. The goal was to see if relaxing the stomach muscles with Botox creates more room for organs, making surgery easier and improving breathing.
