Botox injection eases tough hernia repairs, study finds

NCT ID NCT07349628

Summary

This study looked at whether injecting Botox into the stomach muscles a few weeks before complex hernia surgery makes the operation easier and safer. In 32 patients, the Botox temporarily relaxed the muscles, helping surgeons close the hernia opening without needing more extensive cuts. The goal was to see if this approach leads to fewer complications and better recovery.
