First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested a combination of two drugs, bortezomib and dexamethasone, in 18 adults with acquired pure red cell aplasia (a rare condition where the body stops making red blood cells) whose first treatment didn't work or stopped working. The goal was to see if the combo could safely help the body start producing red blood cells again. Participants received the drugs in a hospital setting and were monitored for response and side effects.
