Doctors drill into bone to save lives when veins fail

NCT ID NCT07239375

Summary

This study is testing a method to give fluids and drugs through a needle placed directly into a patient's leg bone (intraosseous infusion). It's for critically ill blood cancer patients in the ICU when getting a regular IV is too difficult or impossible. Researchers will watch 52 patients to see how often the first try works, if it helps stabilize them, and what side effects occur.
