New dental technique aims to save jawbone during implant surgery

Summary
This study tests a dental procedure that combines a special technique (socket shield) with growth factors from your own blood and a bone graft to help preserve bone around a new dental implant. Seven adults needing an implant in the front upper jaw will be followed for 6 months to see if this approach improves bone healing and implant stability. The goal is to improve long-term success of the implant.
