Custom 3D guides aim to improve jaw reconstruction accuracy
NCT ID NCT07365852
Summary
This study tested whether custom 3D-printed surgical guides improve accuracy during jawbone grafting compared to traditional freehand surgery. Thirty patients with jawbone loss received grafts from their chin area, with half using custom guides and half using freehand technique. Researchers measured how accurately the bone grafts were placed and whether this led to better bone regrowth for future dental implants.
