Glue instead of screws? new fixation for skull flaps
NCT ID NCT06095531
Summary
This small pilot study is testing a new, dissolvable bone adhesive to secure the piece of skull (cranial flap) that is removed and replaced during brain surgery. The goal is to see if this 'bone glue' is safe and works well to hold the bone in place as it heals, potentially offering an alternative to traditional plates and screws. Researchers will monitor 20 patients for up to a year using CT scans and patient surveys to check for complications and healing.
