Ultrasound may predict stomach trouble in ventilator patients

NCT ID NCT07312890

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple ultrasound of the stomach can help predict feeding tube intolerance in intensive care patients on a ventilator. Researchers will measure the stomach area with ultrasound early on and see if it relates to later problems like vomiting or needing to stop feeding. The goal is to find a better way to manage feeding in critically ill adults.
