New hope for hard-to-treat breast cancer: experimental combo enters final testing phase

Summary

This study tests whether adding the experimental drug BNT327 to standard chemotherapy helps people with a tough-to-treat type of advanced breast cancer (triple-negative) live longer without their cancer growing. About 558 participants who cannot receive current immunotherapy will be randomly assigned to get either BNT327 plus chemo or a placebo plus chemo. Neither participants nor doctors will know who gets the real drug, and the study will track how long it takes for the cancer to progress and overall survival.
