BioNTech tests new lung cancer drug in first human patients

Summary

This is the first human trial of an experimental drug called BNT116 for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The main goal is to find safe doses when BNT116 is given alone and when combined with other approved or experimental cancer drugs. The study will enroll about 280 participants at different stages of lung cancer to check for side effects and see if the treatments show early signs of helping control the cancer.
