Bone protein boosts dental implant healing in new study
NCT ID NCT07240493
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a bone-growing protein (rhBMP-2) helps dental implants stay stable and preserve bone after a tooth is pulled. 24 adults with damaged upper front or premolar teeth received an implant right after extraction, with or without the protein. Researchers measured implant stability and bone levels at 16 weeks to see if the protein improves healing.
