Blue dye could make pediatric surgery safer by revealing hidden blockages

NCT ID NCT06448143

First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a blue dye called Bludigo® to help surgeons see if the tubes from the kidneys to the bladder (ureters) are open during surgery in children. About 18 children under 17 having urological or gynecological surgery will get a weight-based dose of the dye, and surgeons will watch for blue urine jets to confirm the ureters are working. The goal is to check safety and how well the dye shows ureter patency.
