Scientists test new method to make blood transfusions more effective

Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether adding a special agent during a blood transfusion can help the blood deliver more oxygen to the body's tissues. Researchers are enrolling 35 healthy volunteers to receive their own stored blood back, with or without the added agent. They will measure blood flow and oxygen levels to see if the treatment makes a difference.
