New blood test could spot deadly infection risk in vulnerable cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07277387
Summary
This study aims to find new patterns in blood proteins that can predict which cancer patients with low white blood cell counts and fever are most likely to develop serious complications like sepsis. Researchers will analyze blood samples from 350 adult patients with blood cancers who develop fever during treatment. By comparing protein patterns in patients who do and do not develop complications, they hope to create a better prediction tool than current tests.
