Simple blood test may predict head and neck cancer behavior

NCT ID NCT07512921

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This observational study aims to see if a blood test can identify the same biological subtypes of HPV-negative head and neck cancer that are currently only found by analyzing tumor tissue. About 300 adults with advanced but curable cancer will give blood samples before and after treatment. Researchers will compare gene activity in blood and tumor samples to see if the blood test can reliably predict cancer behavior and outcomes. The study does not test any new treatment.
