Does older blood cost lives? study probes link in trauma care
NCT ID NCT07341139
Summary
This study looks back at medical records to see if the age of stored blood used in large transfusions affects survival and complications for severely injured trauma patients. Researchers will analyze data from about 300 adults who received major blood transfusions after serious injuries. The goal is to understand if using blood stored for longer periods is linked to higher death rates or more health problems within 28 days.
