Arm squeezes tested as potential Drug-Free fix for high blood pressure

NCT ID NCT04753840

Summary

This study is testing if a simple technique called remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) can help lower blood pressure in people with mild hypertension. RIPC involves briefly squeezing and releasing the blood flow in an arm with a blood pressure cuff. Researchers will compare this method, combined with lifestyle changes, against standard lifestyle advice and medication over three months to see which is more effective at controlling blood pressure.
