New blood pressure monitor put to the test in critical care units

NCT ID NCT05673408

Summary

This study is testing how well a new non-invasive blood pressure monitor from Philips works compared to the current gold standard method that requires inserting a small tube into an artery. Researchers will enroll 189 critically ill patients of all ages, from newborns to adults, in intensive care units. The goal is to see if the simpler, less invasive cuff method gives readings as accurate as the more invasive arterial line method.
