New device tested to suction deadly lung clots
NCT ID NCT05684796
Summary
This study tested whether adding a mechanical clot removal procedure to standard blood thinners works better for treating serious lung blood clots. It involved 100 adults with a specific type of high-risk clot that strains the heart. Researchers compared the standard treatment (blood thinners) to the standard treatment plus a procedure that uses a catheter to suction the clot out of the lung artery.
