New pill may beat injection for preventing Post-Surgery blood clots

Summary
This study compares two medications that prevent dangerous blood clots in the legs after emergency abdominal surgery. Researchers want to see if a once-daily pill (rivaroxaban) works better and is safer than a daily injection (enoxaparin). About 212 adults will take one of the medications for 7 days after surgery and have leg ultrasounds to check for clots.
