Race to stop deadly clots in obese surgery patients
NCT ID NCT05569681
Summary
This study aims to find the safest and most effective dose of a blood-thinning drug (bemiparin) to prevent life-threatening blood clots after surgery in people with severe obesity. It will compare two different dosing schedules in 2400 patients undergoing general, gynecological, or weight-loss surgery. The goal is to provide clear guidance to protect this high-risk group from clots without causing excessive bleeding.
