Scientists search for genetic clues behind rare bleeding disorders

NCT ID NCT00230165

Summary

This research study aims to better understand how inherited blood cell disorders develop by examining blood samples from patients and healthy volunteers. Researchers will perform advanced laboratory tests on platelets and other blood components, and analyze genetic material to identify specific defects. The study includes people with conditions like Glanzmann thrombasthenia (a rare bleeding disorder) and their family members, as well as healthy volunteers for comparison.
