First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether a device using sound waves and microbubbles can safely open the blood-brain barrier in 13 patients with recurrent glioblastoma. The goal was to let more of the chemotherapy drug carboplatin reach the tumor. The study focused on safety and whether the barrier could be opened, not on curing the disease.
