Summary
This study looked for signs in the blood that could help diagnose chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a brain condition linked to repeated head injuries. Researchers analyzed blood samples from 120 athletes and brain injury patients, as well as healthy volunteers, to find unique proteins and genetic material. The goal is to create a simple blood test to identify CTE, which currently can only be diagnosed after death.
