Baby-led feeding beats spoon-feeding in new study
NCT ID NCT07467876
First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at two ways to introduce solid foods to babies aged 6-12 months: Baby-Led Introduction to SolidS (BLISS), where babies feed themselves, and Parent-Led Weaning (PLW), where parents spoon-feed. 65 babies took part. The study found that more families stuck with the baby-led method (78.5%) compared to the parent-led method (52.3%). The goal was to see which method parents followed better, not to test a treatment.
