Blood thinner danger in emergency surgery revealed

NCT ID NCT04216394

Summary

This study looked at whether patients taking newer blood thinners (DOACs) bleed more during emergency abdominal surgery compared to those taking older medications like warfarin. Researchers tracked 4 patients who needed urgent surgery within 24 hours of hospital arrival. The goal was to understand bleeding patterns and whether patients needed unexpected additional procedures to control bleeding.
