Common drug tested to stop dangerous bleeding in weight loss surgery

NCT ID NCT07401394

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called tranexamic acid (TXA) can safely reduce serious bleeding after weight loss (bariatric) surgery. It will compare 1000 patients who receive the drug with those who get standard care. The main goal is to see if TXA lowers the need for blood transfusions or follow-up procedures due to bleeding.
