Pelvic floor therapy may beat bladder treatments for chronic pain

NCT ID NCT02870738

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at two different ways to treat women with long-term bladder pain and urgency. One treatment puts medicine directly into the bladder, while the other uses physical therapy to relax tight pelvic floor muscles. The goal is to see which approach works better and to help doctors diagnose the real cause of pain sooner. 128 women aged 18 to 85 with symptoms for at least 6 months are taking part.
