New trick may protect bladder during common incontinence surgery
NCT ID NCT07208682
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether injecting fluid behind the pubic bone (hydrodissection) can lower the chance of accidentally poking the bladder during sling surgery for stress incontinence. About 300 women having this surgery will be randomly assigned to receive the fluid injection or not. The main goal is to see if the injection reduces bladder punctures, which can lengthen surgery time and increase bleeding.
