VA challenges 80-Year-Old cancer Check-Up rule: could fewer procedures be just as safe?

NCT ID NCT07408830

Summary

This VA study aims to find out if veterans with high-grade, early-stage bladder cancer can safely have fewer invasive check-up procedures. It will compare a schedule with fewer cystoscopies to the current standard of very frequent ones, tracking survival and cancer outcomes over several years. The goal is to reduce discomfort and healthcare costs without compromising patient safety.
