New gel aims to soothe painful side effects of bladder cancer therapy

NCT ID NCT07495072

First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study is testing whether a gel placed into the bladder can reduce painful side effects caused by a standard bladder cancer treatment called BCG. BCG is effective but often causes urgency, pain, and frequent urination. Researchers want to see if giving the protective gel early during BCG treatment works better than giving it later to ease these symptoms and help patients complete their full cancer therapy.
