New chemo combo tested to shrink tough bladder tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT01616875

Summary

This study tested whether giving a combination of two chemotherapy drugs (cabazitaxel and cisplatin) before bladder removal surgery could shrink invasive bladder tumors. It involved 28 patients with cancer that had grown into the bladder wall. The main goal was to see how many patients had their tumors shrink enough to justify testing this approach in a larger, more definitive trial.
